woah, woah, woah there. now you dont just have to start them off with the most advanced bible out there. there are kids and young chlidrens' bibles that are available, and teen bibles. when i get older i would have a bible that was suitable for my child's age available. these topics should be talked about however, at an appropriate age. When they get older then they can read these thngs you talk about as a part of understanding that things in the world are not all good, but if they have jesus in their lives,..they should not do these things so they can follow god's word

If you let your children watch TV or go on the internet then it is suitable. Children see violence on video games and movies too. They need to know that their is evil in the world and it is not all good. They would be in for a shock if they didn't know. The bible doesn't encourage any of this violence but these are factual events that did happen. It wouldn't be right to only include the good things that happened.

The Bible is rated R in many ways. I would allow my Children to read the Bible all the way through and would explain to them how these people were not under the will of God, and help them understand WHO God is better by reading it.

Jewish boys are not allowed to read Song of Solomon until they reach the age of adulthood.
