Give him a nickname if you don't like his name. He'll never know the difference really as long as they're fed, watered, petted, and loved cats are happy really.

I had one we named Durante (as in Jimmy Durante, movie star of the 40's and 50's). Cats don't care what you call them as long as you call them for dinner.
I had a litter once where there were two brown tabbies. They were exactly alike except one was a little bigger and one was browner. So we called them "LittleBigger" and "Browner". The both ended up as companion cats for elderly ladies.
Only people would make a fuss about a name. Do you feel guilty about calling him BIGNOSE?

Unless your cat has a command of the English language there is nothing cruel about it. Who knows what he calls you in Cat language?

i dont think its a cruel name because i have a cat named (my brother named him) Fatso because he is on the chubbier side.

although I don't think its the cutest name that is the joy of having your own child/ pet.. you can name it whatever you like.
