my father is a self made mechanic. he bought all this stuff to paint the car the color. this thickner stuff. but how will he put it on. i hope he wont use a brush. how to apply paint to make it look nice. when you dont go to the shop.

What he has may be just the base which needs to be thinned to match the spray gun used. Auto paint should always be applied using an air spray gun. It takes some practice to get it right without runs. Surface needs to be perfectly clean and wet sanded so the paint will stick. Need a dust and wind free location when spraying. Be careful of fumes.

take teh can of primer mix it with the car color and after taping the windows and wheels so you dont paint them.. dump all the paint on the roof and let it run down into place. The primer will setlle on first and the top coat will seal nicely. It will all have time to make it to the bottom of the car so you will have no runs too.
