What is the average I.Q.? because mine is 142...is that normal? My school doesnt tell us ranges, they just give us a number score. And I was wondering where I fall.

90-110 Normal or average intelligence

Average is 100. "Mentally retarded" is under 70. "Genius" is 145 and up. Keep in mind, however, that intelligence is not only book smarts, but how well you operate under pressure and adjust to stressful surroundings. I took the test for Mensa, and they put me in a hot room with a squeaky fan. It was terrible.

142 is definitely on the high side. Congratulations. Depending on the test used, you may qualify for Mensa membership.

You fall on the bright side... but it depends on the test. Just don't go and join Mensa or something, because those people are really, really vain. If you want to look down on people, work in a tall building.

I have scored from 143 to 149. It shouldn't matter however, as IQ isn't as important as many middle schoolers make it out to be.
