I partially agree with "LL13JL", but there are 2-kinds of cults, cults that are financially, mentally, and physically destructive as recognized by the world, and then there are those that are considered spiritually-destructive by Christians for not being "Biblical", yet, claim to be....Mormons believe God was once a man who, became a god on another planet and was promoted in some way to be "god of this world"......A world of people in which dwell his "spirit" children, who came from being birthed by one of his wives in heaven with him, where they spend their time eternally pregnate in order to create "spirit-babies" for each and every newborn........Mormons believe that around 1830 in Palmyra, NY. Joeseph Smith discovered ancient buried plates(under the direction of an angel) Which only he could read with special glasses(Urim and Thummin) Those plates, (never seen again) became the "Book of Mormon"......They also believe - "the Bible is the word of God insofar as it's translated correctly" (since 1830 there have been over 3000 changes in the "Book of Mormon")So, when they say the Bible isn't translated correctly, coupled with their other beleifs about God, is why Christians consider them a cult (spiritual) as for being a cultby the "worlds" standards(destructive) that is usually small sects not recognized by the "church" proper.........Whew! there's so much more, I can answer any Question you got, people above me have already covered the "Word of Wisdom" (health code) but, i'm going to take a break now for a few minutes....

Do not drink evil things like coffee, tea, Coca Cola, or anything with caffeine in it. Do not drink regular wine but grape juice instead. Re-write the bible and tell everyone that the hypocritical bible was based in America instead of Europe. Practise Polygamy and incest and raise children with wings and birth defects. TV is also considered evil in certain sects of this church. Become a priest and rip off your congregation with high fees and go buy yourself boats and other luxury items. Only listen to your church elders for rules and advice on how you should live your life. After all, science, technology, and society are very evil. It's the Mormon way or it's the highway!

We believe that God is our father and He wants us to return to him.
We believe in Jesus Christ. He is our savior and Gods son.He will redeem us from our sins if we repent and He redeems us from death because He was resurrected. We will be resurrected and live again, just as He lives.
The Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth, through Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith did not write the Book Of Mormon, he translated it.
The Bible and the Book Of Mormon are the word of God.
Families can be together forever.
The organization of the church is the same as the organization of the church in the Lords day.
We have a living prophet and a lay priesthood.
The priesthood has been restored, and still exists in His church today.
The greatest way to get closer to God is by serving others.
Those are just a few beliefs in a nutshell. If you are interested in learning more, you can contact the missionaries in your area, or ask more mormons, or visit a service tomorrow.
I know that the church is true and that Jesus Christ is my Lord and savior. He will redeem me from my sins if I repent and He will redeem me from death.
I know that the Bible and the Book Of Mormon are God's word. I know because I have tested these things. You can also find out for yourself, pray and ask the Lord to help you know if these things are true.
I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Basic rules are the cost. 10 % of your gross paycheck, thats before taxes, thats the first rule of business. One of their beliefs is that the ole timers can put their hands on your body and you have to allow it right in church. I found that out for myself one day long ago. Another culture called the mormans communists. They believe Jesus is out walking around.

Mormonism is, in some strategies, extra logical than christianity and islam in the way it tries to reconcile the existence of the classic American Indians and uncontacted people in human historic past. It solves the situation for situations consisting of a repenting Hitler and the 6 million unrepentant Jews whom have been slaughtered. Mormons have faith in baptism for the ineffective and for people of very historical origins - people who have been born plenty too early in lands plenty too far-off. It acknowleges that there are communities of people who've in no way ever heard of the gospels and have surpassed directly to the excellent beyond long earlier its icons have been even born. It recognizes that folk invent gods in accordance to their very own unique societies and that a theory in a "one real god" is in user-friendly terms unintentional - a function of time, geography and situation. Had we been born interior the 1st dynasties of Egypt as an occasion, we may be worshipping the "real gods" and "real dieties" en style in the process those eras. Likewise, if we've been born purely some centuries in the past interior the Pacific islands, we may be in song with their platforms of "real ritual". even in spite of the undeniable fact that it tries to restoration those obvious theological issues, Mormonism isn't without its very own set of controversies consisting of people whom are lost completely to the great sands of time and the contemporary DNA discovery that the yankee Indians are no longer descendants of the Israelites as portrayed to Smith via the angel Moroni. Like all religion, you must be gullible and easily misled, but this is especially the case with Mormons. Belief in that religion requires an incredible amount of denial and faith.

Something about a guy named John Smith who found some tin plates and they believe that Jesus went to South America after dieing in Palestine. In other words, Mormonism is just as believable as Christianity.

I'm always amazed at how so many people just love to show their ignorance to God and everyone.
Go to our official web sites and learn what we believe.
