It is not possible to stay in someone's house without their permission. If he were truly trespassing, you would have called the police when he refused to leave. Check your state law to see if you need to give him any notice to evict him now that he seems to have established residence. Usually not if he has no lease, but I can't vouch for everywhere.

I would have him describe what he is going to do every day for each month to make himself independent. Put it in writing and it should be detailed--even to how he will dress, or even what specific clothes he will wear when seeking work. . If he doesn't comply, tell him things are not working out anymore and that he has to go. Be kind but firm, and willing to call the police if you must.

And I would not let him stay in the house between 8 and 6 pm. And I would give him a deadline for having a job. If he misses the deadline--he's finished for now.

you need to get a backbone, sis and tell him the free ride is over. help him find a roommate, boarding house, apartment...whatever. tell him he has until the end of April, that way he can find a job in the week or two, save up and move out.

sounds like no one told him he couldn't stay in your house. you've paid for your mistake. now be firm and move him out. then change the locks. goodluck.

Hand him the section of the newspaper with the homes for rent...and tell him he has (whatever time limit you set on it) to move out. I think one week would be plenty of time. If he makes up excuses just remind him that is not your problem.
Good Luck

Tell him he has 2weeks to find someplace else to live, then stick to it.

If he hasn't moved out in 2 weeks, but his stuff in a box in the driveway and change your locks.

He might get mad but so what...he'll get over it.
