the word righteous means to be in right standing with God, to be a Christian you have to consider your self righteous.

most Christians are also curious, maybe in a different way than you are.

the bible say that God created man in his own image, and that is why we picture God as a person.

I have not found Christians to be against curiosity, the Bible has tons to say about human nature, and frankly the Bible presents God with personal attributes so Christians would be inconsistent to present God otherwise

truthfully, it depends on the person...
I know people on both ends of the spectrum with regard to that... you may have had a poor sampling

however... another possibility is ... sometimes a persons perception of other people is sometimes wrong also, some people consider things self righteous and ignorant that aren't necessarily so..

your point about Christians presenting God as personal is a totally Biblical point as is the doctrines of the falleness of human nature. Christians would be inconsistant not to believe these things

SOME Christians are ignorant and self-righteous. SOME Christians are rigid in their beliefs of "normalcy" (and have their own definitions of that). SOME Christians picture God as a person. SOME Christians are not at all like you've described them to be.

Your generalization makes you appear ignorant. Do some research of your own before you accuse groups of people based on the actions and beliefs of a select few.

Christians are not self rightous, the world doesn't want to hear what christians are saying and assume that God must have made a back door into Heaven. God is not a person but does have a personality, a being that you can talk and relate to if you try.

Do you mean that the Christians YOU KNOW are ignorant and self-righteous, or are you (in ignorance) self-righteously claiming that based on what YOU have experienced that ALL Christians are ignorant and self-righteous?

How do you know that all Christians lack curiosity? When you refer to "it" are you talking about the Christian religion? or Jesus or what--the Bible?
Didn't you know that the Bible itself referred to God as three persons, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit?
How can you assume all that stuff in your question, if you haven't even read the Bible?
I'm just curious...and a Christian, an educated one.

I have wondered about this myself. I think that when people study their Bible's seriously they may just be overwhelmed at time's. They are sincerely trying to help people and believe that it is their mission and responsibility to do so.

Why they become fanatical or even just over zealous is a good question that many people have struggled with for centuries.

Incidentally even though Christians are the most obvious aggressors in modern society they are not alone in this activity.

Hi. Not all Christians are like that. If you've met some who are self-righteous, maybe they haven't been spending too much time praying or reading the Bible. I know Jesus taught us to be humble and not to condemn others. I'm not like them, and so are a lot of other Christians. I apologize in behalf of them because they're not being good witnesses and are not "advertising" Jesus the right way.

And Christianity isn't against curiosity. We are just taught to be "vigilant at all times" and to "guard our hearts", which means we should be able to know if something we're curious about is potentially harmful to our souls.

By the way, God became human in the form of Jesus. That's why His name is Emmanuel - "God with us". And whether you like it or not, He died for you and me. Jesus took that risk by dying for you even though He had no guarantee that you would love Him. Think about it.

Some Chrisitians are ignorant and self-righteous because they forget that they need God and believe they have reached this plateau of knowledge. Human nature is at odds with the Spirit of God in Christians because of sin, a perfect example is fornication. The sex drive is part of the human nature given to man by God, however, sin causes man to abuse this drive for pleasure instead of using it in the God given place of marriage. Many abortions (murder of children), unwanted and abandoned babies, single parent homes, and other situations are created by using human nature as an excuse to sin. God is pictured as a person so we can relate to him. He desires a close and personal relationship with mankind, that's why he sent Jesus in the form of man to live on this earth and die for our sins. Jesus is the bridge between God and man. I hope this answers your question.

most of them are not but christians are human and many humans have these traits you speak of.

Among atheists you can find equal stupidty, such as those who take the ban on forcing faith down people's throats by the school government, to mean that students cannot even discuss or profess their faith in schools.

|Both groups are ignorant. In a free society, ideas flow freely and people make up their own minds.

I've met some chrisitians who were intensely curious.

God as a person? You want logic to anybody's religious belief? Good luck with that.

True Christians are not self righteous. There are many people out there that think that being a Christian means going to church. To really be a Christian you have to accept Jesus Christ into your life and heart.

That being said, we are only human. The whole reason God sent his only Son to die for our sins is because we ARE sinners and are not perfect. Everyone makes mistakes.
