You aren't going to believe this ......but it was a cure from my grandmother and it worked for my one kid and husband who were prone to styes. Rub a 14 caret or higher grand gold over the stye and it should be gone in 48 hours. You might try this everyday. I know it sounds whacky, but I have actually seen this work more than once. If it doesn't work, I don't think it is a stye. TRY IT!♥

I'm not a dr. but I used to get styes quite often when I was younger. They normally only last a few days. I don't think it would last 7 months. Maybe it is a blocked tear duct? For styes I used to put a warm wash cloth on it. When my son's tear ducts were slightly blocked they told me to use a warm, damp wash cloth on him too. Seven months is a long time though. If you have a college in town that teaches opthamologists, they may offer free care. It sounds like her really should have it checked out since it has been ongoing.

Real styes are viral and go away in a week or so. If he has had it for 7 months, it probably isn't a stye. He needs to see a doctor.
