Why not do both? If you don't have many injuries or problems with running a lot (basketball requires a ton of running compared to volleyball) then do both. I played volleyball in the fall season and then basketball is Winter so there's no clashing of games or practices. Basketball will keep you in shape for any summer volleyball conditionings or practices and it's a lot of fun. You never know, you may like it a lot and get really good at it. Volleyball will do the same for basketball, keep you in shape for it and works on your team work and such. Volleyball is my favorite sport to play but I think I'm better at basketball so why not try out both. If you can only pick one, which do you have more fun playing? Or if you love both, which do you think you have more potential to get better with so you have a jumpstart? I mean, if you really don't have the handeye coordination for volleyball yet but you tear it up in basketball then maybe you should go for that and get better at it than starting from scratch with volleyball and vice versa if you can maybe spike a volleybal well but your basketball skills need a lot of work ya know. Good luck and have fun. =] Oh and the girl that said volleyball is more strategic than basketball has obviously neevr played organized basketball. There's a lot of memorizing plays for basketball, it's not just running up and down the court, you have to actually attempt to run the plays you're taught. Volleyball does have strategy because you need to know where to be when someone makes a certain move but it's more instinct after a while, you just know where an when to go somewhere, not memorization.

Well, the girl who said volleyball was more strategic than basketball apparently has never played basketball for a team before, because basketball actually has more strategies than volleyball...cutting, boxing out, plays, picks, stuff like that. Both are rewarding to play. Volleyball is more of a sport that you or your teammates mess up....basketball you can kind of mess up the other team. Basketball involves a ton of running, in volleyball you are not usually gasping for breath and asking coach to take you out. Volleyball is more....realxing...if you will. But no less competitive. I played volleyball a year before I started basketball, and I really loved it, and hated basketball. But when I started playing basketball, I realized that I loved basketball more. Its a contact sport, and the adrenaline gets pumping. I absolutely love it. You have to be more athletic for basketball. But why not do both? Volleyball is in Fall, Basketball is in Winter, so you get the best mix, hotter shorts and more running :-) Have fun with whatever you choose!!

There's a lot more to volleyball than basketball. It's a lot more strategic and is more than just running up and down the court in basketball. Height helps in both sports, but I think volleyball would be more satisfying.

Well personally I think Volleyball kicks butt over all other sports. If you have the chance you should do them both. If you like running then play basketball. If you like intense, up beat strong thighs, hott booty then I would go for VOLLEYBALL!!!! In the end it is your choice, dont make it too early though. Sleep on it, ALOT. HEY you should just play both... I just remembered volleyball is in the fall and basketball is in the winter. Enjoy them both, dont sit one out. This way you are very athletic and HOTT!!! LOL!!!

it depends because volleyball you can be small and you can be tall..tall people are mostly the spikers......and small people are the setters or bumpers....but no mater what you get to be the server.....in basketball you want to be tall because then you could shout and could block other player better....also small people might not get the ball most.....unless you are a great basketball player! Volleyball Rules pick volleyball!

It really depends on what you want to.
Basketball: more running, uses up lots of strength
Volleyball: Have to have strong arms, hand and eye coordination
I personally would pick volleyball because i have no hand and eye coordination whatsoever.

Depends on whether you look better in tight shorts or loose shorts:
Tight shorts: Volleyball
Loose shorts: Basketball
