I'm not sure what you mean by middle Americans; do you mean middle-class Americans?

Regardless, I don't think the common people of the United States and Iraq share any conflict; the problems lie between the governments. Presidents Bush and Ahmadinejad may have their problems, but the people of these countries are just regular people who, hopefully, can differentiate between a people and its government. I wish no harm to any Iranian and I would hope none wishes harm on me. I don't think every Iranian is like Ahmadinejad (thank goodness), and I hope Iranians realize not every American resembles Bush (thank goodness). We're all just ordinary people trying to run our lives the best way we know how

This does not mean there is a hope for peace, however, because, as I said, the conflict lies between our governments and it is their responsibility to find peace. Pointing out to world leaders that we're all just the same has little effect on them. Our governments are dragging people into this conflict, not vice versa.

What is that makes a person think because they travel extensively (I travel extensively) that it makes them some kind of expert? Your comparison is flawed they are nothing alike and please tell me where is your idea of Middle America?
Would that be in the middle of the United States? Central America? In the middle of South America? That sounds so geographically illiterate.

Well, you're wrong... people from the United States are more like Americans that Iranians ever were.

Sammer, in what ways are you saying they are alike? Are you referring to the average person in Iran and the average person in middle America? I would agree. I've travelled too, and it amazes me how much more similar people are than different. Most of us have the desire to live in peace and hold our families close.

Hope for peace. I don't think that the average people, with families and lives want the endless upheaval that war brings.They/we just want to live and let live.

Iran and the U.S. are more similar than people realize. The Iran the the U.S. media shows is a far cry from the real Iran.

on another note, both have horrible leaders...
