i have a AudioBahn 1206T subwoofer and and a SPL Phantom DK2-1000 watt amp. I was running 8 gauge power wire, i kept blowing inline fuses. so i stepped up to 4 gauge wire. Now i am blowing the 25A fuses on my amp. I am running a cap also. I put a 60A inline in and blew it (i normally run 80A) and 30A in the amp. The 30s blew when i put the 80A back in. So im assuming im running between 60A and 80A. I have a marine battery in my truck and when heavy bass hits it drops the volts down to like 10. so would this be a battery problem? I can run the stereo fine very low like under 20. Over that and the fuses blow on the amp so im pretty sure the amp itself is fine. Any Suggestions?

NO you dont have a battery problem. You just have TOO MUCH amp for your vehicles voltage system. Fuses not only blow when there is too much voltage, they will blow when there is not enought voltage to prevent a burnout. You need to get a smaller amp. You just have too much right now.

You have what is called a 'Low Impedance' problem. If your amp is only 4Ohm stable bridged, chances are, the sub is a 2Ohm version. You cannot blow fuses b/c 'not enough power' is going through it. That makes NO sense. Only thing that blows fuses is; TOO much power, or, low impedance (or a short- check all connections, also). Mister ASE suggested this? Dude, come on!

what they guy above said dude, ur running way too much. you obviously didnt do enuff research. you need to get smaller amps are get a highoutput alternator. capicitors arent the smarterst choice if your listen to heavy bass music cuz in a song like shoulder lean ur cap will drain in like 2 seconds and then u got it sucking from ur alt and the amps as well so it like dual load. and if u got ur heat or ac and headlights on while rolling down ur windows i wuldnt be surprised if ur car jz died.
