my problem is that whenever I go near him by opening his beak he threatens to bite me, and if I put my finger near him to make him stand on it he bites several times? what should I do? let him bite and make him used to my finger or ignore him for a while so he can get use to his surroundings?

He's confused, he needs to adjust to his surroundings and new atmosphere.

Give him time to readjust. Talk to him softly and dont ignore him but dont push yourself on him right now either.
Give him a couple of days to realize that your not going to hurt him. It will just take time.

Please try to remember that he is an animal and doesnt understand what is going on.

First let it get used to its surroundings. Do not bother it for about 2 weeks. After two weeks if it lets you get near it, put gloves on and put your finger out for it. It might try to bite you, but since you have gloves on it will not hurt. If you get your finger close enough it should climb on.

I have had cocktails for 8years,and what we do is move your finger while it is bitting you. Sounds dumb but it works, what else works make sure that you come slow and open the cage slowy and put your hand in slowy so you don't scare him. You are new to him and the bird is in a different place so just work with the bird and things will work out.

My cockatiel did that too. It took him a week to stop.
I think it just has to get used to you. Some birds take longer. This is a web site that will help you.

Hope this helps you.
