Every time I get stressed out or bored, I feel really hungry all the time. I eat and eat and eat but no matter how much I eat I still want to eat more. Even if my stomache hurts from eating too much, I still feel an irresistable urge to eat. I'm not overweight [yet]. I'm 5'2" and about 117 lbs. I've been very slowly gaining weight and watching the fat around my tummy get bigger, and I'm tired of it. I want to have the flat tummy I used to have.

And I think about this every time I over eat, I look at my belly and tell myself that if I keep eating it's gonna get bigger, but that doesn't stop me. I feel like I absolutely have to eat (when I'm either stressed or very bored).

Please help me, I need some advice on kicking this bad habit of mine before I become just another American obesity statistic :(

ps I am 16, if that makes any difference

I have several suggestions #1 is to find a hobby, this is what I did and ended up making things for people for Christmas and all kinds of occasions! Go to the hobby store and look around, see what you are interested in, this was fun for me!

#2 Take a walk every day too! I started out with 15 minutes going and turning around 15 minutes back home. Then it was 30 min. going and 30 minutes turning around and going home, you will lose weight and get some fresh air too, or is it possible for you to go to a gym?

I started exercising because of boredom and now am a trainer & teach classes. You will like how exercise makes you feel. Can you use a dvd at home? Go to collagevideo.com this is a professional site and it has everything, find something that you like and you'll look forward to doing it!

If you want to start toning your stomach muscles do criss crosses ((opposite knee to elbow from a crunch position))...they work miracles! Honestly I used to do the exact same thing...I'm a ballet dancer though so I started focusing more on my physical activity which helped a lot.
