Neither of these substances will cure an active yeast infection. Yogurt contains Lactobacillus acidophilus, a bacteria which can aid in promoting growth and sustenance of normal bacterial flora in the vaginal tract. Normal bacteria can help to keep yeast at bay and may prevent or delay onset of a yeast infection.

Cranberry juice is partially effective at reducing occurrences of urinary tract infections because of its ability to reduce the urine pH and make it a more hostile environment for bacteria to grow. It does not have an effect on vaginal yeast infections.

If you have what you believe is a yeast infection and haven't been treated for one before, please see a medical professional for examination. If, however, you are familiar with yeast infections and their symptoms and are relatively sure that's what it is, you could try an over the counter product such as a Monistat cream or suppository. If that doesn't work, or you want a more reliable treatment, you should ask your doctor for a Diflucan prescription. Often one pill will do the trick.

Don't treat the yeast infection with these, rather use them as preventative. They would never treat a yeast infection, but as soon as you start using them, they help your body defend against any potential yeast infections. For yeast infections, use the OTC creams, or get a prescription from your doc.
