Because Jesus said in matthews 7:21-23 Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will.
22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’
23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.
So a lot of people who think they are saved because they preach in the name of Jesus, cast out demons, etc and Jesus will going to reject them so how do we know that we don´t belongs to that group, because looks like that have the Holy Spirit because they can cast out demons and are preaching.

just do what was preach by the Apostle in Acts
that is if you believe Jesus when He gave Peter the keys, that was a reference that he would preach the first message of salvation after the promise came.
Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

“How can I know for sure that I will go to Heaven when I die?” The answer is this – believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved (Acts 16:31). “To all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12). You can receive eternal life as a FREE gift. “The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). You can live a full and meaningful life right now. Jesus said: “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). You can spend eternity with Jesus in Heaven, for He promised: “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you may also be where I am” (John 14:3).

I think if you read the whole Chapter 7 and not just the 3 verses, it will all make better sense to you. It all goes together. Christ has to be in your heart, not someone just living a good life saying it's for God.

Once a person is born of God, Gods way, person receives the Holy Spirit. There is a spiritual birth, and one has spiritual eyes, ears, etc. open. The Holy Spirit is also the seal of God for the child of God unto the day of redemption.
This is also the Spirit of Truth who leads into all truth and also the promised Comforter. Where also is given blessed assurance who we are in Christ, where we can boldly come before the Throne of Grace, 24/7, praying in spirit & truth, because of we are redeemed, children of God.
People believe they are saved & do religious works, but they never truly confessed Jesus Christ their Lord & Savior to God the Father, and never truly believed in their heart that He shed His Blood for remission of our sins and raised from the dead an everlasting body.
There are people who do lying wonders, but they don't preach the Gospel. Nor are they born of God. Jesus can never say to any of His, who are born of God, "Depart from me, I never knew you.". The seal of God is on all His Children.
And if people are being healed because of faith In God and the anointing of the Holy Spirit, to say it is evil is close to blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. That is not forgiven.
They said Lord Lord before Christ after they died. They never confessed Jesus Christ their Lord & Savior & believed in their heart He raised from the dead when they were on the earth. They were never born of His Spirit.
Jesus said that to see the Kingdom of God, you must be born again (Born of His Spirit, cleansed by His Blood, joint heirs with Jesus, part of the Family of God.) This is a spiritual birth.
Descerning of spirits is a gift of God, and necessary when someone is doing things in Jesus Name. The Holy Spirit is One Spirit and agrees and if this person isn't of His Spirit, then person isn't part of the family of God. Like Mormons say Lord Lord, yet are of a different spirit than the Holy Spirit of the Holy Bible. You are not going to get born of God, born of His Spirit in the Mormon Church. They do many good works, but is trying to make themself righteous enouph to deserve heaven or Godhood and that is self righteousness and not Christ Righteousness. When we are redeemed by His Blood, We are made the righteousness of Christ. Nothing we do or don't do will make us more or less righteous before God. It is His redeeming blood.

One has to understand and follow the original teachings of Christ to be sure. If they follow the Bible of the mainstream Christians they are pretty much following the Roman government. The original new testament before king Constantine misconstrued so many things is now available in English for the sincere seekers of Truth and Christ. for info. Go to gospelofthenazirenes.c One has to understand Christs original teachings of Karma and Reincarnation to really get the big picture.

Except ye be born again you shall not enter the kingdom of God. Except Jesus be saved, be forgiven, and you will go to heaven. Please stop trying to read more into Gods word than what he says. Please stop pulling scripture out of context. If you don't believe that's fine, but your not going to change anyone Else's mind.
Write a book, if your so concerned.

if we are doing things only to get into heaven or are doing things so people can see us and say - gee what a good Christian.... we are not doing it for God. when we do acts of charity we are to do so quietly. when we fast we are not to walk around saying - oh i can't i'm fasting - we are to behave and look as if we were not fasting. God will know the sincerity of our hearts and actions.
we are to walk in this world humbly before and for the Lord.

You can be sure by just taking Jesus Christ at His word. He said: "Truly, truly I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me (that is, God the Father) HAS ETERNAL LIFE, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. " (John 5:24)
"He who has the Son has the Life; he who has does not have the Son does not have the Life.
Theses things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God IN ORDER THAT YOU MAY KNOW THAT YOU HAVE ETERNAL LIFE." (I John 5:12,13)
I am sure I have that eternal life because Jesus Christ has promised it to me.
What do you have?
