I got the idea that you use the Bible alone from Martin Luther. It's the major tennant of your faith.

a woman, not a child...actually it says no such thing. And if it did, where does it say the age one is a woman?

Actually in the Jewish faith a man can get a wife from her father at 3 years and one day. She cannot keep the wedding ring unless she is 12.5 when they marry. Otherwise dad keeps it. The wedding is consumated when the groom choses. That has nothing to do with the Bible and Protestantism though.

Just chuckling at the notion that all Protestants believe in the Bible ALONE as a source for religion. Tell it to the Episcopalians and Quakers (and many other well-known Protestant groups). Just because the Bible doesn't say specifically that an adult shouldn't marry a child doesn't mean that it condones it, either. The Bible is silent on many subjects, but that doesn't mean that it's giving a green light to unconscionable actions.

My best guess would be not to be unequally yoked and marriage to a 9 year old would not be very equal unless you were also about 9 years old. (not saying they have to be the same age but close enough they could relate to each other.)
Martin Luther was a wonderful man but it's not a tenant of my faith that I must believe in the Bible alone. God wouldn't have given us common sense if He didn't expect us to use it.

I believe in the inerrancy of the Bible it is the tennet of our faith. The Jewish faith says a boy becomes a man at 13 and a girl becomes a woman upon menstruation. (Usually around 13-15 years old.) A girl can be promised to a man at a younger age but they may not come together till she is a woman. 9 year olds are still children.

Not all Protestants are Biblical literalists. My own denomination is not a "sola scriptura" Fundamentalist church by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, many of the mainline Protestant denominations aren't, which even nominal research will tell you. If you need Scripture to tell you that marrying a child is wrong, you need far more help than can be derived from mere church attendance. There's such a thing as morality, after all, and it doesn't come from Scripture alone, as evidenced by the many moral people who are non-believers.

Where did you get the idea that Protestants rely on the bible alone? We also use common sense.
