Do you put a cover on or not?

I put a cover on it because it tends to splash everywhere and makes a big mess.

usually it's want it covered, with the cover titled just a bit to let out steam. if the recipe doesn't say otherwise, then just assume that

maybe if you have a crockpot like my mom does, maybe use that and put it on low if you use it for the whole day. But do use the cover
