I think older people trust in the older doctors more than younger people do now. I know my own mother would do anything her doctor told her to do and ask nothing. It drives me crazy! Maybe some people are from the old school that doctors' are God. It is a shame because I believe so many people could be helped and spared pain sometimes by looking elsewhere for medical help.

For one reason when you are sick, especially sick to the point that you need to see a doctor, people often find a sense of relief when the doctor offers you a treatment option that will allow you to feel better. Also Doctors have an elevated status in our society, and many people are intimidated by doctors because they appear to be very smart and have all the answers
As to having the best answer, many times they do if not have best answer they have the best options. There are times however doctors don't have a clue what is going on and this could be for many reasons.
I would distrust a doctor who did not encourage a patient to question the basis for their diagnosis and treatment, or a doctor who instead of admitting they do not know what is going on with you and are unable to diagnose your problem, make their patient feel as though nothing is going on and/or the problem is psychological or a doctor who can't diagnose a disease so they do not treat leaving their patient still in distress.

When we need their help, they're all we've got. We hope they have the best answers; some do, but there are good and bad all over, and some people (they are just people-) are more conscientious than others. Some doctors (and patients too) believe that MD stands for Master of Deity, but most are pretty decent people who do the best they can. If your doctor doesn't know to control a problem, you should ask him about trying something else, or a recommendation for a second opinion. Doctors know who is good and who is not.

I don't know to ask anyone else that could answer relevant questions such as them. They have decades++ education for a reason. Know anyone else with more? I don't so why would i trust a less educated person when i can ask a doctor.Notice they never say I don't know. Tha's because they do. I've never been misinformed yet.I don't waste my time listening to talk shows like rosie odonnel eho blabs away thinking she has answers. She don't know any better than the average Joe, What a waste of energy. Not just in mind for her,I don't like simpletons.

first of all, LOL. i do no longer especially think of that God would not exist, i'm purely no longer extremely confident what i've got faith that's close adequate. who're you? i'm JILL! valuable to fulfill you. the place did you come from? properly, prepare your self. while a guy and a woman love one yet another (or are drunk) they are in a position to work together in sexual kinfolk, which involves the guy placing his penis into the womans vagina. 9 months later, right here i'm! (that's many times an identical way chistians are born? till you're some form of alien?) Why are you right here? i'm right here to respire air, consume nutrition, sleep each so often, and finally to reproduce! the place are you going once you die? i'm going to die anyplace i'm while dying strikes me. (back, comparable as you human beings!)

On the contrary, I don't always trust doctors. All they know is what the drug reps. tell them. If you want a good opinion, talk to a nurse practitioner. In my mind, they seem to know more about ailments, cures, and medicine.

You should always understand what is the problem, what can be done for it, what the work up involves, what are the risks and benefits. Then you can make a decision about what to do together, it should alway make good sense to you. You should work together as a team!!

I dont because my doctor half the time doesnt know whats going on with me. She gives me a generic answer, that i could have thought of myself and then the problem doesnt go away.Sometimes you have to listen to your gut, and if possible find a second opinion. I cant because i dont have insurance and my doctor visit is cheap.

That's a part of their cultural programming. I believe "medical error" kills several hundred thousand people per year, does it not :))

Since they have experience, it kinda implies that they have experience, which you can trust. if you don't trust it, you can 'self diagnose' to confirm.
