You could take your 12 year old to the eye doctor. They can examine her eyes and take measurements for contacts. They usually give you one pair for free to try for a week. If that works out then you buy more contacts the next week at the follow up appointment. I think that week in the trial pair should be very revealing for you and your daughter. She might hate it or she'll love it, you never know.
I've worn contacts for over 20 years, my first pair was at 12! I did just fine, I think she will too! They'll educate her and give her supplies to take care of the lenses.
Go for it!

your 12 year old would do just fine with contacts as long as he or she is responsible. i got contacts when i was 14, and i know some people who had them when they were about 12. it really doesn't harm the child's eyes. babies can even wear contacts however, they aren't able to put them in their eyes. but their eyes can handle it. no one's eyes are damaged while wearing contacts. i really hope this helps. good luck. ps. summer is a great time for contacts!

Contacts do not harm 12 yr old eyes. However, maturity is a big factor. Can she be trusted to take care of them, such as cleaning them daily as required, not wearing them to sleep? If she is responsible, and can follow doctors orders on keeping them clean, and only wearing them for the amount she's supposed to, I think it's fine. It's basically whether or not she is able to care for her eyes herself, if she can't just yet, then maybe wait a few years. The only concern is whether or not she will take care of her eyes without your direct supervision.

Contacts wont harm her, but is she ready for the responsibility? If you don't care for them properly or wear them as prescribed(everyone is different), they may harm her. Some adults cannot handle the responsibility. They aren't cheap, and you cannot replace your eyes...

NO""""When it involves Children,You ought to Be Extra Careful, that ,,,that character has the potential of babysitting,, Now-A-Days,they ought to understand First Aid,and Not freak out whilst The Child is crying plenty,, Plus assess in the market credentials no crook list, or any form of abuse within the loved ones in any respect!! Even peers would no longer be competent to look at over the baby in any respect!! So Be Extra Careful WHO You rent,,,,certainly not ever get a Contact to maintain your baby until you recognize them ,as though they have been your blood loved ones..

its actually okay because 12year olds are old enough for contacts and they are responsible (sometimes... ) it wont hurt her eyes unless she doesnt take care of her eyes and contacts ... well my sis is 16 and she wore her contacts for 2 yrs,, and she said her eyes dry up easily.. and she got lazy so she wears glasses now.... acuvue gave some sort of allergy to her eyes so she had to go to optmetrists and change her contact brand,,,, at first, she couldnt put it in her eyes because she got scared, but now shes really confident at putting them in,,., she got used to it about a week later..
a friend of my sis had to get an eye surgery because she didnt take care of her eyes when she was wearing contacts.. ; never touch your eyes with dirty hands when wearing contacts
