Could it be a very bad thing or no big deal?

It is generally not anything to worry about, unless it is causing pressure. If it were, there would be symptoms.
I'm guessing it was found during a CAT scan or MRI? These can form and go undectected for years after a blow to the head. Talk to your doc, if it is something to worry about, he will discuss treatment with you.

That doesn't sound like a good thing although I have no idea what it could be indicative of.
