They seem to show up every night between 12 and 2 am... I have offered to even play some checkers with them... Alas, All they want to do is sink each others battleships....

Unfinished business? They obviously died in battle and never got to finish that game of battleship. Unfortunately, as we all know, a heated game of Battleship can last up to 9 or 10 hours. If the spiritual portal is only open for 2 hours every night, they are doomed to start a new game for eternity. I suggest positioning a mirror behind the one you'd like to see lose to help the other guy out. Or not. Harmless battleship-playing ghosts never hurt anyone. Well, my mother...

According to Ecclesiastes 9; 5,6, there cannot be any such thing as ghosts, spiritual parts left over when someone dies.
So what you are experiencing is demon activity.

Allow them to keep playing, don't interupt them either, it gets annoying. Just go back to bed. But if they start trying to hurt you or eachother, make it clear that it's not the right behavior for men of their stature.
