it shouldn't be very hard for an almighty God to make sure the bible is accurate, so why there are so many contridictions and mis-interpretation?

For instance? Can you give us some of these contradictions and mis-interpretations? I doubt it. You sound like one of the parrots inhabiting yahoo answers. Where did you hear this?

I have yet to see any real contradictions in the Bible, and I have been on Y!A for quite some time. Most so-called "contradictions" are artificially invented by septics desperately trying to find fault by grasping at straws.

So the answer to your question is that the Holy Spirit DID preserve the meaning of the Bible. It isn't really all that hard to interpret. People just don't like what it says, so they reinterpret it to rationalize their lifestyle.

The Holy Spirit did preserve the accuracy of the Bible. The Scriptures that we have that have been translated into English (and other languages) are very accurate according to the standards that are placed on other writings of antiquity that we have today (which was wonderfully answered by Jesus = God's Profile) Where the problem comes when people try to "translate" them to say what they want them to say, not what an intent to edify, but to promote an agenda.

It did, in so far as matters concerning our salvation is concerned. That is the official position of the Catholic Church regarding biblical inerrancy.

The "Dogmatic Constitution on Divine Revelation" (Vat. 11, Ch. 3.11) of the Catholic Church says that "all that the inspired, or sacred writers, affirm should be regarded as affirmed by the Holy Spirit, we must acknowledge that the books of Scripture firmly, and without error, teach that truth which God, for the sake of our salvation, wished to be confided to the sacred Scriptures." This is the Church's teaching on the matter after twenty centuries of Christian discernment.

Biblical inerrancy, then, is the Bible's privilege of never teaching error. Does this mean that every statement in the Bible is divine teaching? Of course not. The Bible does not always teach. There are many statements in its various books that are there for historical, geographical, poetic or other reasons. However, whenever a biblical author intends to teach us something, then the Holy Spirit intends that too. Everything that the Bible teaches is without error, but everything in the Bible is not meant as teaching. Each author was left free by the Lord to express himself according to the ideas of his own day. It is the revelation contained in the Scriptures that is important.

Peace and every blessing!

Aussie,
The translational problems are not of GOD or the Holy Spirit. They are man's mistranslational problems. There are no contradictions only man-made errors that occur because man wants to put his ideas in GOD's Perfect Book. The BIBLE is error proof and contains NO Contradictions in it. Man has some major problems. There are a number of Denominational Churches that have their own traqnslations attempting to make the Bible say what they want ti to say. This is not GOD's Problem it is going to be man's undoing. We will be judged from the Holy Scriptures not from what man wants to introduce into those scriptures. Have you been introduced to our Savior Jesus Christ? Are you interested in your eternal Salvation? I would be glad to assist in a study any time that you are interested in doing so. Just drop me a note. Have a great evening and a wonderful Lord's Day.
Thanks,
Eds, Non-Denominational Christian

God does not interfere with His gift of free will to us.

God created man a rational being, conferring on him the dignity of a person who can initiate and control his own actions.

"God willed that man should be 'left in the hand of his own counsel,' so that he might of his own accord seek his Creator and freely attain his full and blessed perfection by cleaving to him."

Appreciating the gift and responsibility of free will also acknowledges the possibility that we and others will misuse it.

It is our responsibility to make sure that Bible translations are as accurate as possible.

With love in Christ.

May the peace, blessing and mercy of God be upon you

because the Holy Spirit, aka the Archangel Gabriel, already brought God's final revelation to the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, that 1 500 000 000 people of the world follow (some a little deviantly).

Peace Be With You

"1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace." Ecclesiastes 3:1

As this scripture shows, there is a time for everything. The bible doesn't contradict itself. Your understanding is blinded because of your unbelief. In fact the truth is hid from you(Matthew13:11). You act like you could have done a better job, but your mortal and you only live about 80 years and you will die and go to hell unless you repent. Its not very wise to be judging God. Most sinners are at least smart enough not to do that.

It IS preserved. Problem is, there are also other similar but inaccurate versions caused by stubborn men with free will. God protects His Word and interprets it for His People. It is not meant for anyone else, so they can do without.

The New Testament Scriptures are the most reliable texts we have from antiquity.
Basic facts about New Testament Manuscript Tradition

2.These New Testament copies are much closer in date to the originals than The Illiad copies
3.The New Testament copies are highly reliable: a 99.5% match between copies
The Second Most Attested Manuscript from Antiquity is The Illiad by Homer.

If the words of the Bible have been changed then I'm certain that God allowed it for a good reason. I still don't think there are contradictions because it was written by Jewish men and it's easy for us to misinterpret it because of this fact. They spoke a certain way that we may find confusing.
