Ok. I have anxiety and am scared to death of the dentist. I've had a few bad experiences. Teeth pulled. Braces. Fillings. etc. Now I need some real good ways to get out of going. Not ringing up. Not simply just not going (I'll be getting dragged there) I've come up so far with the car just -accidentally- getting a flat tyre. and pretending to have a couple of blood clots. Anyone got any better ones that will work? And i'm not interested in "Just go". That went well when I did that last time -not- So any ideas?

I'm not sure who the excuse is for, but if it's for the dentist... You don't have your health insurence anymore, and you can't afford to go. Or say you're switching dentists, and don't...

... But along the lines of "just go" getting your teeth cleaned and getting small cavities filled now will prevent root canals and teeth pulling in the future. Also, if you've had problems with your dentist, go to another. Some are definetly worse than others. Some are actaully really gentle and aren't too bad to go to. Good luck.

OK listen. I had major dental malpratice done to me when i was 19 yrs old by a oral surgion. it took me 5 yrs to be able to go back to a dentists. I was able to find a dentist that perscribed me xanax everytime i went in to the office. I also got what they call laughing gass. that way i could get my dental work done and not have to worry. my very first appointment i just went in for a consultation to talk. then went back for all the work. believe me 5 yrs of not getting my teeth 78properly cleaned and examined took a huge toll on my teeth, a bunch of cavities, problems with a few molars, i needed a few crowns and a root canal.

i highly suggest that you dont skip going to the dentist. i know how petrifying it canbe after a traumatic experience. I was in icu with in 24 hrs of a oral surgion messing up my mouth. my own parents didnt recognize me i was so swollen.

im now 36 yrs old and I have an excellent dentist that i know trust and i no longer need medication to go into his office every 6 months for a cleaning or exam and i trust him. hes gentle and soft spoken and handsome too lol.

If you are sedated for a dental appointment with either xanax or gas or both please make sure u have a friend or family member to drive you.

good luck and take care. relax and take a few deep breathes. ask your friends and family or co workers about hteir dentists and see if they like them and see if they have sedation avilable. be honest with your dentist and tell him your scared
im sure he will be understnading and help u through the experience. tc hugs i hope this helps

Well if you don't mind ending up without teeth, to skip dentist apointments will depend on how old are you. If you are less than 18 and live with your parents, then there is no way you can hide forever. Parents are no idiots, eventually they will make the connection between your dentist apointments and your weird accidents and suddenly getting sick. The best way to keep yourself away from the dentist is taking good care of your theeth.

Oh for gods sake, don't be a baby. The health of your mouth determines the health of your entire body. You can damage your heart valves by neglecting your teeth!! No wonder people make fun of Brits teeth, this is the very reason your mouths look like hell.

Dentures are no fun. It's really difficult to learn to talk and eat with teeth that are not attached to your own mouth!
If it is THAT nerve wracking for you to go, ask for Twighlight or a valium before they work on you. Get a ride home tho!
Take care of your teeth, you'll miss them when they are gone!!!

say that you got hurt (you choose how to get hurt) and have a doctors appointment the same day as the dentist but not the same time or your parents will get suspicious then one day before the "appointment" say the Doctor called and reshuculed( how ever you spell that)and your appointment time was when the dentist appointment is.
good luck!!
