Besides eloping...lol...I would suggest getting married in a local state park where you have a beautiful natural background in an outside ceremony and have an outdoor picnic where everyone can bring a side-dish, salad or dessert (also some state parks have chapels), some of these places also have buildings (dining halls, or covered shelters -which are useful for dancing areas). Try using orientaltradingcompany.com for some of the wedding merchandise and having the bridal party put together their own flower arrangements. Enlist the help of someone who has a very organization and thrifty sense to help you put together a wedding plan.

If you eat out alot cut back to once a month at night and 3 times a month during the day. Be sure to clip coupons for a while. Pay the lowest amount possible on your credit card bills. Maybe pick up a few babysitting or cleaning jobs here and there. Work 5 hours extra each week and put it aside.
Happy Wedding!

I got married on budget too. We did our wedding for less that 5000. I ordered my flowers on line through this web site http://www.onlinewholesaleflowers.com/weddinginabox.html. They have packages called "wedding in a box" starting at about $150. It isn't hard to make your own stuff. If you want you can even take a class at a local craft store like Michael's. The flowers were great quality even in Oct when I got married (just make sure you unwrap them and put them in water over night to let them "open" up). Also, the hall we rented gave us 2 hours free in the hall with the purchase of our food. I did all my own favors. We had a fall themed wedding so I filled medium (like 4x6) clear cellophane bags with fall colored kisses. Going with the fall theme, we did our tables in mini pumpkins with tops cut off and tea lights inside. We also didn't but flowers on the tables, we used gourds, persimmons, pomegranates, walnuts, and pecans (in the shell) all from family members' back yards. We also scattered the extra rose petals we didn't need for the flower girl on the tables.
The best advice I can give you, is do what you can yourself.

Depending on how far in the future it is, put your income tax refund towards the wedding.
Also, have a certain amount taken out of each paycheck and put into "the wedding account". $10/$50/$100 each paycheck, whichever will not put you into debt.
We are also saving at least $6000 by having it on a Friday instead of a Saturday night. It unfortunately may slim down the amount of "yes" replies though.

get a 2nd job and save 90 or 100% of your paychecks in a special savings account just for your wedding. also, accept any offers from your family or frineds to help pay for the cake, decorations, etc for the wedding in exchange for gifts. congrats!

Have the wedding at a place that has a buffet style dinner or lunch.
Or have a back yard wedding and have it catered by your favorite deli or restaurant.

Try to eat meals that you get at the grocery store rather than going out. Also, do your own nails and pedicures for a while, it will add up!:)
