Honesty,Communication,a Code of Ethics based on the Golden Rule-treat like him I would want to be,Respect Ideas,Beliefs of other-Not Lose Myself in his Needs and Never Compromise My Basic SElf-what Makes Me a Individual, My Beliefs nor ever My Code Of Ethics. Tolerate No Disrespect nor any Infringement on My God given and being a Citizen of Country Given Rights, Never to allow him,anyone to diminish my Importance. If serious about the relationship whether just boyfriend,girlfriend or more than one needs to commit to that relationship , to make the other person just as important as I am, to attempt every means to solve any problems that may come up but also realize that a relationship needs the efforts of both .Often relationships fizzle,end in conflict for too much importance is given to the little things-don';t sweat the small stuff. Also if for whatever reason the relationship ceases to be important to be what I /or he wants then to part in a dignified manner instead of staying in something not meant to be forever.

just one rule: RESPECT
if you respect your partner, you'd never lie or cheat, you would be honest, you'd respect each other's differences and accept each other's faults.
if you respect your partner, you'd never curse or say hurtful words and physically hurt each other (unless you're sadists and masochists). you'd respect each other's time and not take each other for granted.
respect for each other's family and friends matters as well.
and if you respect YOURSELF, you wouldn't let yourself be mistreated by your partner; the person who's supposed to be there with you for better or worse.
with respect, everything else follows.

Trust, open communication, honesty, respect, maturity, affection. Without those, it won't work.
