I made banana muffins with my 3 year old and it went great. He mushed the bananas and crushed walnuts while I measured all other ingredients out. He then poured the wet and dry ingredients together into two seperate bowls and mixed them up. Lastly, he spooned the batter into the cupcake tins. Any type of muffin recipe would work. Just do a web search for a recipe. Easy, lots of fun steps, and great fine motor work and math basics. He loved tasting the batter and ingredients but would not touch the muffins when done. What a stinker!

I'm a big fan of making cupcakes with kids. I get a box of organic cupcake mix, let the kid add the eggs and (soy)milk, and stir. The only adult job is putting them in and taking them out of the oven. Then I provide different coloured sprinkles and frosting pens, and let them go wild.

Banana popsicles...you cut bananas in half, stick a popsicle stick in them and dip them in melted chocolate. You can roll them in whatever you want...like shredded coconut, chppoed peanuts, or..hmmmm...graham cracker crumbs. Then just pop them in the fridge for the chocolate to set. Kids love making them and eating them even more.
