No it is not sad at all. I would much rather go with my friends and by the end of the night I highly doubt people will be focused on who you did or didn't go with how about twenty years from now will it really be of importance? If you take someone don't you have to be with them most of the night? Who really wants that when your at a party? In the end you will do what feels correct. Attempt not to let others influence you in the end.

Good Luck

Hay chica it is definately okay to go to prom without a date! Many girls these days are going dateless (mainly cause the guy dont have enough balls to ask girls like us!) It is good that u have a lot of confidence in urself and independence too! U can go with a group of friends to eat, just have fun with ur girls! If all else fails u can do what I did when I wanted a date last year for prom: get a blow up doll! John was a bunch of fun, and I turned alot of heads (alot of guys were jealous that they didnt ask me!) This year for prom I had tons of guys asking me! Good Luck !! ;) P.S. Some of the older people told me that they should have done the same thing at their prom!

I went to 5 proms while I was in HS (I dated a guy who went to a different school so we had his 2, I went w/ a friend to his once, and then my 2). Anyway- I went to my junior prom alone and had a great time- actually better then when I went w/ a date. My boyfriend and I had broken up and I wasn't in the mood to find a date- so I went alone, well w/ a group of friends.
I don't think it's horrible at all. My husband didn't go to either of his proms and now he regrets it.

Honestly all of the football team and cheerleaders went to prom alone and im sure they had a great time dancing with everyone. I guess this is the real question would you go to a club with a date? the answere is no. I think you would be fine going to prom with out a date as long as your meeting friends there. you should have good time....Dont be shy!

Go and have a ball! Boys at your age are still too self-conscious and intimimated by a pretty, self-confident girl, to ask them out on to the prom or even on a date. Has nothing to do with you personally. You will just have to wait a few more years for boys your age to catch up with you, maturity-wise. Have a blast at your ball, Cinderella!

No I don't think it's sad, it's your choice. If you have a guy friend that isn't going with anyone, you could always go with him in a group of friends so you'll still be with all of your friends but have someone to slow dance with. But if you do want to go with friends that's fine, but you should definitely go! My mom didn't go to hers and now she really wish she had because it's such an awesome time.

Not nearly as sad as going with someone and leaving alone.

Go have fun.
