I've had food poisoning for almost a week now. I try to eat and drink to replenish lost fluid due to nausea and (murky green) diarrhea, but I can' keep it down. Food poisoning should only last 1-4 days, but I have exceeded that. I loathe being sick and this is the first time I have ever gotten food poisoning. I just moved to another state to I have NO insurance to see a doctor. Someone PLEASE help me out!

You MUST see a doctor; you could have a serious condition. If you do not get the condition accurately diagnosed and properly treated, you will very possibly become MORE sick. Hospitals have clinics with Charity Care, and the E.R. can't turn you away. If they bill you, you can send $10.00 a month -- that's how I paid for my son's birth (he was 2 by the time my deductible was paid off LOL! ).

For diarrhea they usually recommend the BRAT diet: Bananas, Rice Apples and Toast. I find that Cinnamon Toast (easy on the butter) helps settle my stomach. You might also want some ginger ale (let it go flat if the bubbles will irritate you).

Tiffany, take activated charcoal. Black Burnt toast is supposed to do in a pinch. It will leach all the toxins out of the gut. You should be fine in a few days.

Activated charcoal can be bought in the capsules at the health food store, or loose in the pet shop for aquariums. (But you will have to grind that up first. It works on all types of poisonings, and infections. Externally, use as a poultice.

my daughter had it too and I made her take one tablespoon/hour of water with just a little bit of salt for a few hours and then she tried some crackers, one at a time and after eating some she started to feel a little bit better so we tried chicken broth then added some noodles to the broth and finally went to toasts. Only then was she able to start eating normally but in very small amount for about a week.
Good luck hope you feel better soon.
