Fear of the unknown.
A need for protection from the ravages of nature.
Silly idea but it does appeal to those who are still, despite being in the 21st century, uneducated and weak.

Either I have it backwards or you do. I haven't created anything, have you? My Bible says God breathed into man so man was God created not the other way around - did I miss something here? Why did God create man? - beats me, he's been nothing but trouble since the beginning. Guess it's a good think I'm not God, I would have zapped him a long time ago.

What the?? I hope this is a typo!..lol...Man did not create God...God created man! He put us all here on earth to find our way back to him at our own "free will". We are all souls trying to find purpose and he is our purpose. In other words, He gave us a human experience to make us stronger.

Hmmm, I wonder why you might possibly be worried about it? If you think he's a figmant of man's imagination, why are you concerned? Maybe you feel God trying to speak to you and now are questioning your beliefs. Talk to God, ask him into your life, ask forgiveness for your sins. God will take your worries away! He loves you!
