Scotland is a beautiful and diverse country, the Highlands are breath takingly beautiful, around every corner is a deep blue Loch or a soaring mountain and the cities rich in historical building and values, and no matter where you are you are never more than a couple of hours from the coast line, hundreds of deserted little beaches, everywhere you go the people are warm & friendly and always welcoming, the cities are no different to anywhere else, where everyone is so busy getting on with their lives they just pass by, buy once you're a little way out most people are only too pleased to have the chance to pass on their bit about where they live etc there is the odd dour person, where doesnt? and the weather isnt the greatest, but everything else makes up for it

Switzerland is much prettier, Scottish scenery is definitely dour. How can you possibly generalize what all Scottish people are like? But if you visit, you definitely need thick clothes and an umbrella, at any time of year.

They seem to have a bit of nagging attitude. They are always complaining butif not they are ice and good people.I have been in Scotland before, yes it has a very beautiful scenery for sure but in Europe if you go to different countries or cities, you can find the same scenery as well!

Of course we have the best scenery in the world- the Highlands especially! I think we are a friendly bunch of folk, sure we like to moan, but it's usually about the weather, but when you have weather like we get, you'll understand!

I'm a Yank and have traveled in southern Scotland some.

The scenery is quite nice.

The people, even nicer. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful.

I've known one Scot, and I adore her.

And Scotland is the one place on the planet I have always wanted to visit.
