I went to a doctor and was blown away to be told to lose 20 lbs i have always been underweight until the baby and I'm still in a size 4 pants. Is the doctors request too extreme or just right?

You are not fat!!! I'd say, maybe if you want to lose 4 pounds. 135 is a perfect weight. And you recently had a baby. Sheesh. 20 pounds is a lot to ask. Does your doctor want you to be super skinny or what? Maybe she thought the scale read 159? I wish I was 139. Still got ten pounds to go! Good luck, but NO you are not fat.

You might be a little bit over weight but by no means are you fat. Especially since you had a baby fairly recently. You can't expect to become thin as quickly as the celebrities do after they have kids. They have trainers and resources that an average person doesn't have. I'd say that the doctors request is a bit extreme but it could be because of the large percentage of people that are overweight and they want to make sure that you do lose the weight sooner than later.

You are overweight, but you just had a baby. That is expected! Imagine how great you would feel weighing in at 119 lbs! All the other young moms would be so jealous!

I don`t think you are fat.I am 5'2' and I weigh about 170 lbs.I think that if you feel good why should you need to loose the weight.I looked up the weight chart for my heighth and I should weigh 130 lbs.

Go by your BMI instead of your weight or size. To find a BMI calculator, just Google "BMI calculator" and put in your height and weight. A BMI between 21-25.5 is a healthy range for a woman.

Don't worry about it. Just be sure and take care of the baby.

the level of body fat determines if one is fat or not, total body weight is insignificant.
