Is illegal immigration caused by Mexicans having children that they can't support?

In poorer nations, why should people have kids if they cannot support them. It doesn't seem fair to burden the child like that. Not to mention everyone else. I can see having one kid, because children are the future and wonderful, but after one. If you can't support kids, you shouldn't have them. Why should you burden the world like that.

It has nothing to do with the number of children, it's a matter of survival and wanting better for your children, Isn't that the reason your family's ancestors came here. The jobs supposedly being " taken away" are ones no American will do but still pay better than no job, or the ones in Mexico. While on the subject of illegal why pick on the Mexicans. All the illegal West Indians in New York has nothing to do with Mexican kids. I'm a white American and I live in the southern New York area and have great respect for the Mexican community. Seeing them toil in the fields, busing tables, lawn workers, standing on the side of the road waiting for someone who needs day help drive up and they jump in the back of a pick up all the while fear full of INS deporting them. Compaired to other groups of immigrants the Mexican have the lowest crime rate around here. I have some friends who are in this category and kidded them by telling them they should go to Florida, get a boat then make like they escaped from Cuba, then Uncle Sam will set them up, take care of them until they settle in ( 10 - 30 years ) and best of all, they will not be considered Illegal Aliens. Seems like you are considered Illegal if you want to escape from poverty and want to work. But if you escape from a Caribbean, Communist or African dictator you can come to American and be given a free ride. You also made refernce to " poorer nations,why should people have kids, etc. " . We have a bigger problem right here at home. WELFARE. In New York an unwed mother ( second, third even fourth generation) who cant support kids, has no intention of helping them to do better and get out of the welfare loop is supported by the State and gets more money for each child she has. As the price of crack goes up so does the birth rate. I'll take a dozen illegal Mexicans and their families over one blood sucking welfare recipient ( blood sucking are the ones who dont want to better themselves and just wants to collect and have babies, not all welfare recipients want to be on welfare, they use it for what it is :Temporary assistance) at least the illegals are trying to move up in the American dream. One last thing you should think about, if Mexico became part of the United States then most Mexicans would be considered Native Americans. Many are decendants of American Indians and they were here long before the European invasion.

Some of the poorer nations do not have the child labor laws that we do in the USA. This is actually a fairly new occurance in our own laws even though it their are few people left alive now who would remember it. In a country like that having more children actually contributes to the family income. Children are made to work and help support the family and they have little if any chance at an education.

Luke, illegal immigration has nothing to do with Mexicans or having children. It has to do with anyone coming into a country (USA) and not doing it legally.
Immigrants aren't the only ones that have children they can not afford many Americans also have to many children that our taxes pay for. USA is the one of the richest countries in the world and many people come from poor countries looking for a better life.

Its like this in the US also. Check out the Gettos and Slums. Uncle Sam PAYS Kids for having Kids now a days. It is a Profitable Business to some *people*. The more kids the more Food Stamps, and the Bigger Check. You could not pay them to work for any amount of money when they can get it for FREE.

Within about 6 months you will see or hear about thousands of people who have lost their job. Within about 0ne year you will see or hear about more thousands of people without work... We are not the worlds richest nation. We are the worlds gratest debtor nation. We are now entering into a depression greater than the great depression... i know plenty of white folk that live in trailers that keep having kids with no visible means of support cmon don't you watch Jerry springer...maybe they keep having kids cause they don't have medical insurance and therefor cannot afford birth control..and as far as illegal immigrants go could you imagine if there were no immigrants who in the hell would

pick fruits and vegetables

if the immigrants stop having babies who will do all those jobs in the next generation seriously having children is every human being right and for every poor person in north America there is an obscenely rich person getting richer by the second in part because they hire illegal immigrants and don't pay taxes for them so who is the real problem

For the poorest population of Mexico, they are not wondered if they can support its children before having them, mainly by religious reasons, "GOD WILL PROVIDE", or "WHERE TWO PEOPLE EAT, CAN EAT THREE ALSO", they say.

Population growth is not the main reason to be immigrants, a lot of them are unmarried.

Reason is simple, USA needs workers and Mexico (Americas too) can supply them.

Mainly, the first time immigrants sent money to its countries, their families used the money to buy these devices: video cameras, games, cellular phones, DVD's and Satellite antennas. Feeding, education and home facilities are not priority number one.

Yeah. I think you're trying to say that if Mexico had better living standards, they wouldn't immigrate to the US. A lot of illegal immigration is rooted in Mexico's insanely high 1.37% population growth rate which requires rapid development in technology to maintain the same living standards. Their population growth rate has carried to the US, which has a population growth rate of .96% annually. Unless action is taken, the standard of living will drop dramatically due to more people and fewer natural resources.
