My cousin is 6 and her name is Talyor Madison. I told my aunt I wanted to name my daughter Madison taylor. I'm not mad she used the names and switched them around. But would it be wrong if I named my daughter Madison still?? I haven't brought it up to her because if it's a no no. I wont even bring it up and choose another name.

Well if it were me i wouldn't want the same name as my cousin's. But if you love the name so much then use only Madison and not the middle name.

I think Madison Rae sounds nice, even though I think Madison is WAY too common all the sudden, but just be prepared for people to assume that you named your daughter after your cousin.

It would only be 'wrong' to name your daughter exactly the name your cousin has, and it would be kind of weird to keep Madison Taylor, even though it's cute and was your idea first, because people would always be thinking 'Hey, she copied...'

Here's something that's just wrong: My son's name is Eian Micheal, and he was born 2/10/06. In 11/06 some of my dad's cousins had triplets, two girls, one boy. They named the boy Ian Michael. Isn't that a bunch of crap? My consolation is that my son is nearly a year older, so everyone will know that we had the name first.

And when I was 5, I had a goldfish that I named Sara Vivian. About 7 years later, my aunt had a daughter and guess what she named her? Yep. Sara Vivian. Not wrong, but just...weird.

It sounds like your cuz didn't feel too bad using your names, and I don't get the impression she asked your permission or took your feelings into consideration.
If you want to use Madison, do so, could change the spelling to Madyson or something like that to be original and slightly different. Keep in mind others will think you copied her, not the other way around.
It is not wrong to use the name you originally wanted to.
Take a look through a name book again, who knows perhaps there is something else you will like just as much.
Good luck with your baby.

There is nothing wrong with it at all. 2 of my cousins have the same middle name. (both named after our Grandmother).
It is your child and if you like the name it's not like it is your cousins first name anyways. Madison Rae is a beautiful name though!

A middle name is hardly used and most people won't even know that your cousin has that middle name. So yeah go ahead and use it, you are entitled to use any name you want and if she doesn't like it well that is just silly. It is not like you are taking her same exact name. Truthfully, I don't think you even have to ask. Name your daughter what ever you want to name her. I really like the middle name Rae btw.

you should just name her madison taylor, it's your child. If you think your aunt might have a problem, then just explain to her you really were set on this name (which I'm assuming : ) ) I love the name personally

Use the name you want. The truth is that almost no one will know what her child's middle name is anyway. My husband and I fought over our daughter's middle name for such a long time, He wanted it to be Sunshine, I said that sounded like a hippie name, especially since my name is Autumn! I wanted it to be Shemis which is sunshine in arabic, but he thought that sounded like a hippie name in his language, and he would be embarrassed to have his family hear it. I Ended up going with Soleil, which is the same name in French. Except for government paperwork, no one ever hears her middle name. Give your kid whatever name you want, that is nowhere near as important as the other things you will give her like love and lessons on how to be a good person!

Totally cool to use it, even if you don't change the middle name. Your cousin should be happy to know you like the name so much and might even like it if you used her name for your baby's middle name.

it's not wrong at all! if that's the name you want for your child, then by all means, name her Madison Taylor.
by the way, I think it's a beautiful name. it sounds, elegant, classy, feminine, and smart, and timeless.
Best Wihses.

I don't think there is anything wrong with using the name. If you were to name your child the exact same name, maybe. But there is nothing wrong with that.
