It does almost sound like compulsive overeating. There are 12-step groups for support, like anything else. Check in your area. You can also speak with a psychologist, therapist, school counselor, pastor - pretty much anyone who's qualified to give advice on the matter. The most important step, however, is that you've recognized that you have a problem.

Keep supportive friends around you as well. People who know you.

Good luck, hon. I hope you beat it. I know how detrimental it can be. *hugs*

Take all that energy you put toward eating and put it toward exercising. It will make all the difference. Walking is good. Riding a bike is better. If you can't pedal a bike up hill, get off and walk it. The more vigorous the exercise, the higher the resperation. The higher the resperation, the more calories burned. You do not have to ride a bike every day of the week, just a 2 or 3 good long rides a week and your body will burn fat every day. Your metabolism will normalize, especially when you lose excess fat. Riding a bike is outdoor exersize. Outdoor exercise is a great way to beat depression. Exercise should make you sweat. Sweating is a great way for your body to detoxify. Perpiration carries toxins out through your skin.

Just stop the excess eating and start exersizing right.
It will change everthing.

It sounds like you are using food as a comfort to you. I think you may be a little depressed and seek refuge in the food you eat. At least you know you have a problem. I think you need to actually figure out why you are depressed. Food makes you happy. Or at least you think it is. Think about it like this. IF you keep eating like this, you will get fat, you will have health consequences. Although, it makes you feel good now, in five years, it will only hurt you. Try reaching out to your family and if not your friends. Perhaps there is someone who is willing to try and help you through this rough patch in your life. Do not use food as a crutch. Good luck. Also, when you feel like eating, try doing something else for ten minutes. Go for a walk, listen to music, play basketball. Anything. Usually cravings will go away within about ten minutes. Also, don't let your mind continually think of food, cause its just going to want to make you eat more.

Talk to your parents about it, talk to your friends about it, or your siblings, or a school counselor or therapist or whoever. Talking about it means you do realize it is an issue, and is a big step in learning to control it. It sounds like eating has become your default sort of tune-out hobby. A way to relax or cope. Try replacing this with something else that is just as exciting and rewarding. A new hobby or something else. The desire to eat is strong so of course it is a hard habit to break if you eat too much. I think with the help of your friends and possibly a therapist you may see some improvement.

Try and find a hobby to take you away from food. Try drinking water when you get hungry, and when you do eat, eat a little of this and a little of that.
For example, have a very small amount of fruit, a small main course, and a very small desert, like a small ice cream sundae.
When you get hungry again, drink water. Try to drink as much water as possible without going overboard.
