Russian orthodox is a big one but like most places, there are my other religions. Islam and Judism are present and relitivly popular. In st. petersburg there is statu in honor of the jewish people and many old families are/were muslim. Then there re otheer eaastern religions, different forms of christinity and atheism which is very common, even though more and more people are becoming orthodox that theree are too many preists for the churches. hope I helped.

There are many, because Moscow is a cosmopolitan city. The major one is definitely Orthodox, but there are large diasporas of Muslims, Jews, Catholics, Buddhists...as well as various sects. A number of people are atheists, but don't be mislead by the past years - communist times with its propaganda have gone away, and nowadays more and more people in Russia are turning back to religion.

Eastern/Russian Orthodox
You have to understand that during the communist reign all religion was surpressed and Jews were persecuted. A large portion of the country is atheist.

same as everywhere. I was surprised to learn this due to the anti-communist propaganda i grew up with. Initially many people turned their backs on religion because the people were starving but the church refused to part with their gold to feed the people that gave them the gold. This was around 1917.
