I say do the volleyball and possibly join dance or something like that on the side. Volleyball you could get medals and grow as a player and a person. I think cheerleading is just a way to exploit people. Sorry, but its true.

From what I've seen at my school and being part of volleyball, of course I would say volleyball. If you're more concerned with looking cool and such than having fun then cheerleading is probably the way to go. My main point though is that once you join volleyball you're pretty much in all 4 years as long as you bring some ability and you're teachable and show improvement. However, cheerleading is a little more "catty". At my school, some girls that were chubbier and even seniors that had been on the team all their highschool years were cut because they didn't fit the "look", know what I mean? So if you want something to stick with and grow with you have a better chance of being accepted into volleyball for a long time compared to cheerleading that you might be kicked out of because you tick one of the head girls off or you don't fit the look. But it's your choice, whatever you have more fun with.

I would pick the cheerleading.
My reasoning is that you can always start or join a recreational volleyball team at a community center. You could even go and buy and net and/or a ball and have a "for fun" team after school. Wouldn't it be cool to start your own volleyball team using all the kids that the school team didn't want? That way, everyone who wanted to play volleyball can still play!!
You can't really start your own cheerleading team though. Um, at least I don't think you can, I could be wrong.
Also, I've been reading that a lot of companies will hire someone whose been a cheerleader over someone who hasn't. Apparently cheerleaders are cheerful, outgoing, friendly and very good at meeting and talking to new people.
You could even try out for both, just in case you don't get picked for one activity, you may still be picked for the other.
Good luck and have fun whatever you decide to do.

In the Fall Season, try out for volleyball.
In the Winter Season, try out for cheerleading.
That way, you don't have to pick just one. I'm sure you'll do super duper great in both Volleyball and Cheerleading.
Good Luck in High School!

Go for volleyball. My cousin does cheerleading and now she's really snotty and thinks she's really cool and has a boy 2 years older then her. Usually when ur a cheerleader you think you only need a guy that you watch all the time in football

You have a better chance with volleyball. Being chosen as a cheerleader involves a lot of politics and possibly sex to be chosen.
Good luck!.

I you choose cheerleader, it will probaly make u popular, but if you choose volleyball, you won't have to go through and face all those problems cheerleaders have. Volleyball won't make you a nerd, but it won't make you as popular as cheerleaders. In my opinion i would go with volleyball. But it's your choice.

Pick which one you will be truly happy with and have the best chance for making the team.
I played volleyball and I was tired of playing it. I tried out for the JV team and didn't make it. I had wanted to play tennis but I stayed with volleyball till the end. Luckily, the tennis coach it my school was nice and let me practice with the team and then join the team. I now love to play tennis.
