My husband has an '07 Camry LE, which we have taken to our local Toyota dealer SEVERAL times for a squeaky center console. The squeak seems to come from around the shifter. It also squeaks when you touch the side of the console. We've had the console replaced twice. Has anyone had this problem, know how to fix it, or have any suggestions of how we can finally get this fixed?

Not at all interested in what car everyone thinks we should buy or should have bought.

It's obvious something is rubbing against something else. Point of the question is to find out if other Camry owners have figured out what it is and what the solution is.

Thanks!

The guy who says his Chevrolet doesn't squeak failed to mention it DOESN'T RUN either. LOL

You may have a foreign object that's fallen down in there. The dealer should be able to put a felt washer in there and fix it.

Then trade it and buy an Altima. You're too young to be driving a Camry.

i do own a camry 2007 se and had the same noise under the console. the dealer just placed some sound deadening material. now its noise free. car and driver also had the same problem with their long term car and the same fix was done.

A squeak means something is rubbing - duh. What is rubbing has to be precisely identified. you have to either lubricate it (Armor all) or insulate it with foam tape. Dealers are notorious for changing parts to try to fix squeaks and the new part is exactly like the old part - so it will squeak too!

under radio there is 2 bezels that just pull off right under radio they run up and down pull them off and see if you squeak goes away then if it does put some felt tape on clips and reinstall.

A foam tape around the sqeaking part is the only solution.

Work around is to turn on your radio/player.
