I think they started with Marilyn Monroe. She was perceived to be dumb, because of the parts she was given, and the way she was expected to act. In actuality, she was a very intelligent woman who was unfortunately miscast in life.

probably a blonde and a brunette got in a fight and the brunnete just started saying jokes about how she was brunette and how the blonde was "so stupid"
