Are Most Singaopreans (already in their 60s)still works their butts out?

Question

my friends and i (from the states) visited singapore last wk.We did noticed that most of the taxi drivers already in their 60s' or "golden years." are still working/driving late at night.We were surprised and wanted to know dont they ever retires and enjoys the remaining yrs to be with thier grandchildren or even travel to once in a while with their family.Life is short but do they really need to work their butts off even in their 60s?

hmm, you should have asked them when you were there! but they might be working because 1) they like being out and about, they 2) need the money, or 3) they don't have family to go hang out with.
