I mean, will Canadian officers ask/check my identity any other way then Driver License. For example on Rainbow Bridge, Niagara Falls?

I just want to make few shots of Niagara falls from Skylon tower, so I don't really need a car. Is by foot the same as by car?

This is exactly the case why Americans require a driver's license AND a birth certificate to enter Canada. A driver's license is used to prove your identity and a birth certificate is used to prove your citizenship.

No, if you aren't American you will need a passport to get into Canada, and to get back into the US.

Land crossings are all the same. No difference if by Car, bus or foot.

driver's licenses don't mean a heck of a lot if you're not a citizen.

unless you are from a country that neither the US and Canada don't require a passport for (and Greenland's the only one I know of), you will definitely need more documentation.

And you should be more worried about re-entry into the US. I live near the border and just the other day a foreign man who lived in Pennsylvania was arrested for trying to re-enter under dubious circumstances.

BRING YOUR PASSPORT.

1st - find out what documents (if any) Canada requires for people of your nation, and prepare yourself.

2nd - if you have a visa for your US residency, make sure it is a multi-entry one.

To enter Canada via car, if you do not have a passport, you will need your state issued identification (your driver's license) and a certified copy of your birth certificate. As of 2008, you will need a passport to enter via car. For now you can get in without one, but a passport is definately prefered by customs agents.

If you fly to Canada, you must have a passport to enter the country. They won't even let you on the plane without one.
