Eat healthy, keep your hair well moisturized (anything with jojoba or fruit extract/oil is great, so is pink oil moisturizer), don't hot press/straighten your hair immediately after you perm/relax/color your hair, it can cause more damage and make it break off, and keep your split ends clipped atleast once a month. If your hair can't breathe it won't grow. I found out the hard way, but now my hair is doing fine :):) Also, if you think you don't eat a very healthy diet, take calcium supplements or multivitamins. Your hair needs food just like your body.

Eat healthy, don't damage your hair with to much heat for too long and just wait it out, I guess.
