My brother is 27 years old and he does cocaine. He has a son who is 2 and he rarely sees him. I'm so upset and I'm not sure what to say to my brother about this. The family tries to keep it on the down-low because he gets offended every time we say something. Does any one no exactly what this drug is doing to him and also how do you think I should approach him with this issue?

Whatever you try to do, do it as a family. If he tells you to f*** off, don't get angry, he is messed up. Just keep trying

if anyone here had the answer to this question the whole world would be a better place. This is why there is such places as rehab and outreach centers. Talking to him does no good because he does not want to quit. Sounds like me when I was 27. He has to want to quit. I used every drug known to man and even tried concoctions of my own. When i turned 35 I said enough is enough. I wanted to quit and I did. Not everybody can do it but some can.

As much as I hate to say it cocaine is a highly addictive drug and it will be very difficult to get him to kick the habit unless it is something he wants to do.
Any time you approach an addict you need to approach it with love and compassion and just express your concerns and desires.
I'm sure you are worried about his well being.

I say forget about him.
I know it sounds harsh but if he doesnt want to change or at least give some time to listen to your family and you, then forget about him.
Dont let him know you're worrying about him.
Let him feel lonely and let him get rejected.
Afterwards, he'll quit and he will be tired of doing all these iggieal things and a bad father too.
It's his life. Not yours.
Dont be like him, you live your life better.

your bro sounds too trashy to do such an expensive drug. my guess is he's doing meth amphetamine or crack.
there's probably not a whole lot you can do anyways.
