Ok,here is my problem... I have two Siberian Huskies,A desexed male of 3 years and my female is not desexed as we will breed her in future, she is 1.She had her first heat at 6 months and no problems only it went for a month. This time around its a different story..She has been on heat for a week and the two of them are best buddies as always except for yesterday.I woke to hear one of them squealing in pain and to my surprise they were bum to bum,STUCK. His willy was twisted and he was trying to get away, they were running in opposite directions, blood everywhere. We separated them and took my boy to the vet, thankfully no permanent damage. He was baffled as although they TRY to mate when desexed, there is usually no success. I try to keep them apart now as im worried it will happen again but they both howl. What do i do??? My girl has undies on inside so they can play and not get up to mischief. But cant leave them on when outside. Please Help!!

Let them be together for the day and at night put them in separate rooms so they can still be friends but just watch them. You can also have them in the same room and have a baby monitor in the room and in the room your in and if they cry because it happened again you will hear it and stop them from doing it again. The dogs will most likely not doing it again because dogs are smart so they hopefully wont do it again

I have a female husky too, and my daughter has a male. I was going to breed mine as well, but her boy was neutered. However, she came into heat when my daughter was visiting and they too were stuck together, and as she couldn't get pregnant we let nature run it's course. I don't know why but she really likes my daughters dog, I have other male shepherds around that are not fixed, but she won't let them near her. Your female will probably stop howling if it happens enough, although they will get stuck each time. It's hard to keep them apart, and why fight nature. You shouldn't breed her until she's over two, but at least she'll know what it's all about. It's very difficult to take a female that hasn't had a male in for breeding, and even taking the male to her environment doesn't always work. Your female will probably be much more calm when her time to breed comes now that this has happened. Oh, and don't separate them, they'll separate on their own with time.

What your two dogs did was tie. This is natural during breeding process. Yes, the female and male will howl, but they aren't in pain just trying to get unhooked. I would recommend spaying your female if you don't plan on breeding her, otherwise it will continue to happen. It will always keep the female from leaving blood all over the place. Whatever you do, don't pull them off each other when this happens. It will cause damage to the males penis. I would just suggest calming both the dogs down by holding each still or even one until they come unhooked. They will come unhook on their own.

If you don't get the female spayed, then let one dog out at a time when she is in heat. I have had this happen a number of times with my male and female. My male was neutered, but was female wasn't spayed. What your two dogs did was tie. This is natural during breeding process. Good Luck.

what would be the reason for not letting them breed ? different colors? i would understand if she was to young but you can monitor them put them together and help them breed by keeping them calm
also men that get visectimes (however you spell it) can heal and still reproduce could this have happened to your dog ? get it checked out it can happen

ummm.. get them fixed so you don't have to worry..than I wont have to worry about all the animals being killed in shelters. please before you breed your dogs, look around the shelters and see how many huskies are there. check out petfinder.com and see. We don't need anymore dogs in this world, but I guess you don't care that thousands of animals are dying in shelters.. thanks...
