I liked it, but I have heard alot of people say they didn't and I was wondering why.

I liked it, I thought it was something in the plot that was different, two rats, I enjoyed the writing, but have to say was dissapointed in the ending.

Well, not to disrespect your opinion, but i hated it. i couldn't believe it won the oscar.
The writing was awful- and the way the story was presented was shifty and weird.
The characters were all awful- not one redeaming quality.
But what i am interested in is why you liked it? i mean, was there something awesome that i missed? i really want to know.

interesting question since i dont know anybody that didnt like it. hmmm i wonder why certain people didnt enjoy it... because I LOVED IT! great piece of work... typical scorcese fashion too. you have to watch his other films and watch a ton of other different types of movies to say that a movie like "the departed" wasnt good.
