Why are opponents to immigration lambasted?

It always happens when someone speaks up about the perils of immigration - Enoch Powell, Michael Howard, Andrew Green (Migration Watch)...
Why has a gag been put on those who speak up against immigration, why are they ridiculed and termed as a racist just for speaking how they feel. Must we all have the same pro-immigration mindset or risk being an inferior???

Opponents to immigration are often lambasted as they often have their facts wrong or don't even bother to find out what the facts are, as most of the answerer's to this question have proved; your question was about IMMIGRATION and most of the answerer's have gone on a rant about ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION which is a totally different subject.

Migration started when man started to walk on his back legs and it will continue until the end of the Earth, when we will probably be trying to migrate to another planet.

Incidentally, I have put questions on here about BNP policies which have been removed, presumably by people who oppose immigration.

There's a whole lot of lambasting going on.

I agree with many of the posts here, but I would also like to point out that there is a very deep rooted support of illegal-immigration from many of the big businesses---from banks, manufacturers, agribusinesses, meat packing industry,. and the rest of the businesses that totally depend on cheap illegal labor to make the obscene profits that their CEOs have enjoyed. Just check on the web to find sites which report on how "accommodating" many companies/public organizations have become to allow illegals to buy properties, to make loan available to someone who doesn't even have a social security number, to go to colleges with in-state tuition, to stand around/ in front of businesses to solicit work, .......

Some times I wonder, what kind of pitiful "wh**e" the government and officials of this country have become that they could so gladly ignore the dire needs of their own citizens and handover the precious public resources to millions of illegals and criminals just because they "NEEDED THE VOTES"

immigration is actually beneficial thats why the opponents are classified as narrow minded racists. Mainly because they allow race to be the deciding factor in being against ignoring the benefits to the country as a whole.

Anti - immigration types just see dark people on the streets and dont like it but when you view it dispassionately you will find that great wealth has been brought into the country by rich Arabs, rich Jews, rich African Dictators and Rich others like Murdoch, Al Fayed, the Saudi Royals, The wealthy Asian billionaires and the Hong Kong Business people brought us HSBC. We cant pick and choose. We would be dirt poor without the input of foreign people and cash.

All the interest and tax on this monies are used to finance our generous dole system - of which some of the immigrants are also entitled. Its swings and roundabouts really.

Because the illegal immigrants don't want people to know the truth about them. They want us to feel sorry for them and let them stay so every time someone points out the fact that they're nothing but criminals who are potential terrorists and are plotting to take over the USA, they get all up in arms. Also, when people like Congressman Gutierrez and Senator Dick Durbin and Governor Rod Blagojevich get caught helping illegal immigrants, they want to have an excuse. However, illegal immigrants play the race card continuously. They are absolutely and unequivocally racist and they are not to be trusted except to stab you in the back. So, don't give a hoot about the politically correct, refuse to apologize for speaking your mind under your first amendment rights and then every time you get to speak up about illegal immigrants compare what happens to them versus what happens to the children of Citizen criminals who commit crimes -- their children are taken by DCFS or CPS. If Citizen criminals endanger their children, their children are removed from their homes. However, illegal immigrants endanger their children on a daily basis and they aren't punished. It's about equal treatment under the law. They're criminals and should be treated as such along with all those who hire, harbor and help them and all of us who agree should be shouting it from the rooftops, putting bumper stickers on our cars, signs in our yards and hanging up on every foreign speaking person who calls our home. We should not frequent businesses that hire illegal immigrants and we should be very vocal about the fact that we're boycotting them. Additionally, we should be taking pictures, collecting names and all other information about known illegal immigrants and sending the information to ICE, our state and federal attorney general and to the IRS. If you don't mind giving your name, you can collect a reward and if enough of us do this, the government will soon find out that it will be much more profitable to enforce our laws than to have the citizens up in arms.

How many times have we heard they do not collect government benefits than we see it on the news,on the Internet,in newspapers that everything they say illegals aren't doing the facts show they are doing this.
