How do we help our sweet, caring daughter to know that we will be here for her? We know it takes time, but she worries whenever we leave to go somewhere without her ( even to work). It breaks my heart to se her so sad. She's in "play therapy" and it's going ok, but I know she's anxious. We've known her for 1 year and she's been living with us for 9 months. Any suggestions as to what we can do specifically? We adore her and in our hearts she was meant to be with us!

You did not mention how old she is and this is very important to answer this question. Depending on her ability to communicate and comprehend depends on the various things you can do to help her. Play therapy is useful but your family also needs family therapy. You also need a therapist that will give you direct examples of what you should do in your home to assist her. Does she have a psychiatric diagnosis? Does she have behavioral problems? It sounds as though all of you are hurting and need good professional advice. Play therapy will not be enough. Find a good family therapist. Best wishes.

You are so fortunate to each other. You just need to spend a lot of time re-assuring her how much you love her and how important she is in your life. Time will cure all. Good Luck!
