Grate as in Great? Or Grate as in he needs to have his face go through a cheesegrater? Cause I choose the later.

I'm guessing you meant to spell the word great!
But yes, Jeff Gordon is one of the greatest drivers in Nascar of all time. While you may not be a fan of his (I'm not), you cannot deny the fact that the man's record speaks for itself. He has 4 Nascar Cup series Championships, and he would have had his 5th if it hadn't been for the beginning of "The Chase" back in 2004.
He won his first championship when he was only 24 years old. There are some drivers who haven't even won 1 race in the Cup series and he already had his first victory at 24! He has 75 wins and counting. He is also one of 5 drivers who has 4 victories at The Brickyard.
Love him or hate him...the man is one of the greatest of all times. Whether we like it or not!

Jeff Gordon isn't great (to me no driver is), but he is a very good driver. He knows what it takes to be a successful driver (brains and talent.) I don't know if he will win the Nextel Cup this year, but if all goes well, he will have a good season.

hi is great....him and tony stewart are the 2 best motorsports drivers of our era
they can drive anything they want and acctually be competitive and win...
most true racing fans will agree with this point, and that Jimmie Johnson and Juan Pablo Montoya are to other greats....
these four drivers are part of the elite like Richard Petty, Dale Earnhart, David Pearson, Lee Petty , Clae Yarbororgh, AJ foyte, Mario Andretti....
anyone who finds him gay or any other insult are either not true racing fans or are just jealous of the fact that he is succesful
and i will be the first to admit that in the last years he hasnt always performed to full capacity but that is mainly due to the fact that the competition has gotten better and the cars are more equal

His racing record speaks for itself. He will pass Dale Sr's NASCAR race win number and most likely win more championships the Dale Sr. I would think that Richard Petty's 7 championship win is unsurpassable though.
