I am a Muslim and i don't feel i have to apologize for anything someone else does whether they are the same faith as me or not. Do all catholics apologize for the IRA? No because they are not responsible for the actions of others simply because they share a faith and neither am i. I'm with you i will never apologize for something i did not do. By doing so you are stating that your faith is responsible and Islam is not responsible for what followers do. We follow Islam, Islam does not follow us.

Perhaps there are some corcumstances where you ought to feel the shame of belonging to a group that does wrong... and perhaps you ought to consider very seriously weather you want to remain a part of that group.

Currently there are some very violent sects of Islam in the Middle East. Would it not be correct to distence yourself from all association linking to them rather than standing with the type of ruthless actions they are taking on innocent others? Wouldn't your silence or failure to take steps of disaproval - the least of which being the offer of an appology - be the equal to condoning the acts themselves?

POST SCRIPT: Your verb agreement needs a little brushing up... In your very first sentence the words "has done" is incorrectly used to state the past tense in this particular case since it represents the singular; it ought to have been written as "have done" to express that this was the action of a group, e.g., "He has done." vs "They have done."

No . . . if people are doing something against the what God says, then they aren't Christians and I don't consider them as such.

Are all the bad things that people have done in the name of Christianity bad PR for actual Christians? Yeah. But, it's not something I can CHANGE, so why worry?

I won't feel guilty about someone else's actions.

No not at all.

Everyone has there own agency.

I am a Mormon and everyone says poligomy bla bla bla. I do not apologize for things like this because they do not know the history nor read.

In general everyone sins and will sin in every community so why should you apologize for others sin?

No you are not obliged to apologies but neither must you deny that certain atrocities were committed and express a hope that they will never be repeated in future.

I have apologized for things my church had done to others while I was a Christian. Just one of a trillion reasons I'm not a Christian anymore.

I don't, because I didn't do it, and those who did are dead. Those who would expect me to apologize for the actions of idiots centuries ago aren't thinking.
