Eleanor or Eleonor derives from late Middle age Provencal 'Alienor' (South-East of France) meaning "who grows up". Some diminutives are: Leanor, Leonor, Nora.
Beatrice derives from Latin 'Beatrix', literally 'beatitude actor', so, meaning "who gives beatitude". Diminutives are Bea, Bee, Bice (Bee-cheh).
