I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was a preteen, and I had been living for him for several years. Then in high school I told myself there wasn't any point in believing in a God that didn't exist. I soon regretted it. That was three years ago, and I'm still struggling with whether I'm like Esau, and have thrown away my salvation. I sure don't feel saved. I also swear, and don't witness at all to people. I'd like it if there was some hope for me, but if not, then I guess I'd like to at least know whether I'm going to hell or not. Thanks.

Although you may take ten thousand steps away from God, it is only one step back. And that step is confession and repentance.

God longs for you to return, just as the prodigal son did. (See Luke 15:11ff)

Spurgeon once said, "Dead men don't wrestle." What this means to you, to me, to us is that if you are actively involved in things that are not of God and you find yourself struggling with them, then there is a good chance you have the Holy Spirit in you. Typically if your dead in your trespasses your actions will not bother you.
There is a pretty good chance that when you gave your heart to Jesus as a preteen it was genuine. So you would be in a backsliden state right now. It would be the Holy Spirit that is causing you to bring into question all of these things, and trust me that is a good thing.
Some may tell you to stop doing this and that and get right with the Lord. Good luck. I would say to you, give yourself back to Jesus, start by just spending time with Him. Don't worry about what it is that you are doing that is wrong or not, just spend time with Jesus. I believe that if you do you will find that the rest of this stuff will just go away as well.
The fact that you even ask if you are "lost forever" is a good indication that you aren't.
Blessings!

Hey Scott ... I was a Christian and for many reasons have walked away. As long as you are alive, there is always hope. I did alot of research on whether or not I was going to hell (if there is one) and came to this conclusion; for a Christian to lose his salvation, he would have to be un-regenerated. The Bible gives no evidence that the new birth can be taken away. Whoever believes in Jesus Christ will have eternal life. If you believe in Christ today and have eternal life, but lose it tomorrow, then it was never "eternal" at all. Hence if you lose your salvation, the promises of eternal life in the Bible would be in error. Peace :-)

Only you and God know what your personal relationship consists of. Christians fall short many times in their relationship with God. Rather than look at going to hell, look at growing spiritually with him every day. The devil wants you to be filled with fear and turn from God. If you repent of your ways, God has already forgiven you. So, let the past go, and be the christian you desire to be in your heart right now. You are free!!!! Best regards.

If you sincerely asked Christ to come into your life—even if you were too young to understand everything that it meant—then He heard your prayer and saved you from that moment on. The Bible's promise is clear: "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

Do you remember the way Jesus welcomed children who wanted to come to Him? On one occasion, His disciples tried to hold them back. But the Bible says that "When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these" (Mark 10:14). He rewarded them for their childlike faith.

The real question, however, is this: Are you—right now—trusting Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross for you for your salvation? In other words, don't focus just on the past and whether or not you truly gave your life to Jesus then. Focus instead on Christ and what He did for you, and be sure your trust is in Him. If you are uncertain, decisively commit your life to Him now.

Then make it your goal to walk with Christ every day. Just as children should grow into adults, so God wants us to grow and mature in our understanding and faith.
Recently, I was reading the story of Noah (you can find it in chapters 6-9 of Genesis). You may recall that the world had grown very evil in Noah's time, and God decided to bring judgment on the human race through a massive flood. Only Noah and his family would be saved, because only he was righteous.

But I was especially struck by God's reaction to the people's sin: "The Lord was grieved ... and his heart was filled with pain" (Genesis 6:6). And that is the way God looks at your life—His heart is filled with grief and pain. Why? Because He loves you, and His heart is broken because you have wandered so far from Him. Sin always has consequences, and God hates what sin has done to you.

But God does not hate you! God loves you; He loves you so much that Jesus Christ was willing to die on the cross for you. If you had been the only person on earth who needed to be saved, Jesus still would have died for you. The Bible says, "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us" (1 John 3:16).

Don't be a slave to sin any longer, but repent of your sins and open your heart to Christ. He died for every sin you have ever committed, and He yearns to welcome you home. Put your life into His hands today.

You are lost only if you revert to your earlier religious delusions. You got it right in high school; stick with it. Until somebody shows up with a proof of the existence of god, there is no reason to believe in such. Don't hold your breath waiting for one; people have been looking for such for thousands of years, and nobody has yet found one.

music probably has played a part in your life..especially at such a young age.

the lyrics to some music can be very seducing..and, my guess is that, the music you perhaps listen to is having an hidden agenda upon you...but, your spirit, that you proclaim, and gave to jesus christ...is stronger than any seducing spirit. and, the reason why you are asking this question is because your sprit is rising above your circumstances, rising above what you think...

we do not go with feelings we go by faith..and, we trust our lord jesus christ to help us, and give us strenth..

baby girl..you are fine...actually, you are quite lovely.

talk to Jesus in prayer...and, try to go to church tomorrow..am..

bless your sweet soul

You need to recommit yourself to the Lord and ask for forgiveness. We are never out of God's reach or beyond God's grace. I will be praying for you.

No one is totally lost, but the teaching of hell is not truthful. Only one religion has real hope.
